"MOUNT RUSHMORE OF ARTIST LEGENDS" 2024

I sculpted this triptich, "Mount Rushmore of Artist Legends" with artists' busts (instead of the famous Mount Rushmore depicting presidents' busts.  Featured are Andy Warhol, Frida Kahlo, Keith Haring and Jean- Michel Basquiat.  Each section is 20"h x 14"w or 42"w for all three sections. "KLIMT'S LADY WITH A FAN" - 2023

 "Klimt's Lady With a Fan" was Gustav Klimt's last painting before he passed away. I decided to create this ceramic sculpture based on Klimt's painting.  The original painting was recently auctioned off by Sotheby's for $108 million. "SONDHEIM'S TONIGHT" - April, 2022

 

"Sondheim's Tonight" depicts Stephen Sondheim lyrics  of  the memorable song "Tonight" in West Side Story from the original Broadway musical, conceived by Jerome Robbins with music by Leonard Bernstein. Featured on my sculpture is Carol Lawrence and Larry Kert as Tony and Maria (bottom image).  The first film in 1961 starred Natalie Wood and Richard Beyer(middle image) and the most recent film directed by Steven Spielberg that opened in 2021 starred Amal Elgort and Rachel  Zegler (top image).  For further information, contact me at sandyk@prodigy.net.
