The words from the song, "Somewhere" from West Side Story reflect the essence and inspiration of this piece. Always loving this music by Leonard Bernstein, I attended two concerts where I heard this beautiful song. It inspired me to create my sculpture of "Somewhere." I tried to capture the musical score of "Somewhere" in the notes surrounding the vessel. "There's a place for us, a time and place for us...Somewhere."

"You Raise Me Up" made in 2005, was my favorite of the few abstract sculptures I created. It reveals the feeling of intimacy of the man and woman's connection through the beauty of the natural terra cotta and patina finish that surrounds them.

I created "L'Amour" in 2004, my first abstract sculpture, which was featured along with my other works of art in the exhibition at The Gallery at Monarch Restaurant in May, 2004. Also featured were paintings by my late brother-in-law, Max Scharf.
