"AFTER FRANCOISE GILOT: MANDOLIN PLAYER" 2025

 "After Francoise Gilot - Mandolin Player - 2025 was inspired by one of her paintings from her "Red" Exhibit.  I saw a retrospective of her artwork displayed at the Musee Picasso National-Paris in May, 2024 and created a plaque from one of her paintings in that exhibit.  For further information, contact sandyk@prodigy.net.

"NEW YORK STREET SCENE" 2025

 "New York Street Scene" is based on one of Lester Johnson's paintings from 60s.  Johnson created many paintings in the 60s and 70s of clusters of people from the streets of New York City.   18"h x 14"w x 1"d

"PICASSO'S DORA MAAR WITH GREEN FINGERNAILS" - 2025

 

My sculpture is based on Picasso's painting, "Dora Maar with Green Fingernails," 1936, which resides in the Museum Berggruen in Berlin.  It always takes some thought to create the back of the sculpture, which, of course, is not part of the original painting.  24"h x 12"w x 11"d

 "La Repetition After Francoise Gilot - December, 2024 mounted on a wooden base with French cleat for hanging.  When I was in Paris last May, I saw an exhibition of Francoise Gilot's paintings and drawings at the Picasso Museum.  I decided to create a ceramic plaque after one of her paintings.  18"h x 15"w x 1"d

"MOUNT RUSHMORE OF ARTIST LEGENDS" 2024

I sculpted this triptich, "Mount Rushmore of Artist Legends" with artists' busts (instead of the famous Mount Rushmore depicting presidents' busts.  Featured are Andy Warhol, Frida Kahlo, Keith Haring and Jean- Michel Basquiat.  Each section is 20"h x 14"w or 42"w for all three sections.
